Dr. Goes joined the University of Connecticut in 1990. He teaches a variety of courses in Management Information Systems, both at the undergraduate and graduate level. His research interests are e-business, online auctions, confidentiality and security issues, database technology and management, networks and data communications. Dr. Goes' articles have appeared in Information Systems Research, Management Science, Operations Research, Management Information Systems Quarterly, Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of ACM, Decision Sciences, INFORMS Journal on Computing, Information Technology and Management, IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Transactions on Computers, Decision Support Systems, among others. He holds both M.S. and Ph.D in Computers and Information Systems from the University of Rochester, 1987 and 1991. In, addition, he holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, 1979, and an M.S. in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1985.
Dr. Goes is currently Senior Editor of Information Systems Research. He is also Associate Editor of Management Science and POMS. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Management Information Systems, and previoulsy served on the editorial boards of Decision Sciences, INFORMS Journal on Computing and Journal of Database Management. He was the co-chair for WITS 2004 - Workshop of Information Technology and Systems, CIST 2007 - INFORMS Conference on Information Systems and Technology and SCECR 2007 - Statistical Challenges of eCommerce Research.
He has been elected the president of the WITS organization. Dr. Goes is a co-founder and active participant of edgelab, and heads the research center CIDRIS, Center for Internet Data Research and Intelligence Services at UConn.
