UConn School of Business Reduces MBA Course Requirements, Enabling Students to Complete the Degree More Quickly

UConn Today – The UConn School of Business announced today that it has revised its MBA program, making it faster, more flexible, and more convenient for graduate students to earn their degrees.

Beginning in Fall 2023, the program will decrease the number of credits required to earn an MBA from 57 to 42. It will also change its concentrations and realign its core courses. The changes allow students to complete the MBA program fasterโ€”in just over a year if pursued aggressivelyโ€”and at a lower cost.

The UConn School of Business will be offering an online master’s degree in financial technology (FinTech), as well as an online certificate, in response to corporate demand for talent in this fast-growing field.

The latest additions, to launch in Fall 2023, will continue to position UConn as an international leader in fintech education.

“Fintech has disrupted traditional practices in the financial sector and changed the way we bank, shop, trade, invest, and pay our bills,” said John A. Commencement Speaker Rich Vogel: Pandemic Created Unprecedented Opportunity for Class of 2022

Richard Vogel ’87, a marketing expert and an adviser and champion for startup businesses, recalled feeling proud, but also uneasy about his future, when he attended his UConn graduation 35 years ago.

“Don’t ever let that feeling stop you from going boldly into your work. Instead, use fear and anxiety as a motivator and source of focus,” he told 800 enthusiastic undergraduates, their families, and friends at Saturday’s School of Business Commencement ceremony in Gampel Pavilion.Continue Reading

Student Jack Tarca may never have created his business, Find the Good Brand clothing company, if it weren’t for the entrepreneurship guidance he received at UConn.
