Taylor Vanfleet, a senior Finance major with a minor in Professional Sales Leadership, interned for Virtus Investment Partners over the summer with the internal sales desk. She obtained her sales internship by connecting with a company recruiter at the Sales Competition event in Fall 2015. Internship Success Story: Claire Messina

Claire Messina, a junior Marketing major, worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Sales Intern last summer. As a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, Claire had the opportunity to network with representatives from Liberty Mutual at a golf outing event hosted by the fraternity. Internship Success Story: Cameron Miller

Cameron Miller, a senior Marketing Major with a DMA concentration and a Communication minor, was the Primary Marketing Research intern for Travelers’ Enterprise Market Research team this summer. He learned of the opportunity through an email sent from the Marketing Department and reached out to the Human Resources contact provided. UConn Finance Students Victorious at Highly Competitive Cornell Stock Pitch Contest

A team of UConn undergraduate finance students took third place in the highly prestigious Cornell Stock Pitch Challenge in Boston, going toe-to-toe with teams from Harvard, Columbia, Duke, Notre Dame and Amherst.

PMC is a digital media, publishing and information services company that owns publications like Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) and Variety magazine. September Career Expo Gives Students, Companies a Jump-Start on Hiring Search

Junior Auna Harvey arrived 15 minutes early for the School of Business’ popular Career Expo—prepared with a clear strategy and an optimistic attitude.

Harvey is looking for a summer internship in human resources and is particularly interested in programs offered by Travelers, Aetna and United Technologies.

“I’ll try to get across that I’m very personable and comfortable talking to people, and that I can represent a company well,” said Harvey, who developed professional and networking skills as a freshman in the Business Connections Learning Community and later served as a resident adviser there.
