Removing the Immunotherapy Blindfold

UConn Today– Immunotherapies are promising in theory, but often not in practice. In fact according to experts, they actually only work 10 percent of the time in the treatment of cancer – at best. Yet, while immunotherapy drugs may only help a minority of patients, those who do respond often do extremely well. As a result, many scientists are working to tap into the treatment’s benefits for a wider group of patients.

Folta to Oversee Professional Group

Westfair Communications – University of Connecticut management professor Timothy B. Folta has been elected to a five-year term overseeing the Business Policy and Strategy (BPS) Division of the Academy of Management. The academy is an organization of management educators, with more than 19,000 members in 120 countries. In addition to hosting conferences and supporting research, it publishes six research journals. The BPS division has more than 5,000 members.

Management professor Timothy B. Folta has been elected to a five-year term overseeing the Business Policy and Strategy (BPS) Division of the Academy of Management.

With a global membership of more than 5,000, the division is the second largest within the Academy of Management. The five-year commitment involves a series of responsibilities, including designing the annual conference program, and culminating in the chairmanship. Continue Reading
