The 2015 Ph.D. Student Speaker Series launched on Friday, October 2, 2015, as finance doctoral students welcomed Professor Kent Daniel from Columbia University.

Professor Daniel met with doctoral students, faculty, and presented his latest work at a well-attended seminar. Kent is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He has served as an associate editor for the Journal of Finance, as a director of the American Finance Association, and as a director of the Western Finance Assocation.Continue Reading

In their new roles as department heads in management and accounting, Professors Lucy Gilson and George Plesko say they plan to build on their departments’ traditions of success while expanding partnerships within and beyond UConn.

PR Newswire- Today IBM (NYSE: IBM) introduced new data discovery and question-and-answer capabilities for Watson Analytics that will make it even easier for users to extract insights from their data. IBM also announced widespread adoption, with half a million professionals registering for this groundbreaking data exploration and visualization service since its introduction less than a year ago.
