CT Post – Connecticut Attorney General William Tong released Tuesday an unredacted version of the state’s lawsuit against OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma, revealing emails from 2001 that he said showed company co-owner and former CEO and President Richard Sackler’s “shocking and offensive” disregard for victims of the opioid crisis — an assertion contested by Sackler’s attorney.

UConn Today – With over 500 students comprising 139 teams, the annual New York University Policy Case Competition (NYUPCC) came to a close on April 28, 2019. After reaching the final round, UConn students Shankar Kumar ’19 (MBA), Tony Patelunas ’19 (MPP), ’20 (Ph.D.), Sneha Jayaraj ’19 (MPP) and Joshua Schreier ’19 (MPP) impressed the judges to become the 2019 champions. The team was awarded trophies, a $1000 prize and a celebratory dinner with esteemed judges in New York City.

Real Estate Center Hosts Annual Celebration
The Real Estate Center held its annual end-of-year banquet on Thursday evening in the Rome Ballroom, honoring outstanding students, alumni and other achievers in the field of commercial real estate.
Among those honored were: William Carlson, senior managing director at Cigna, with the Lifetime Achievement Award; Keith Kockenmeister, senior managing director of Kroll Bond Ratings, with Distinguished Alumni of the Year; and Caleb S. Manchester, president of Gansett Ventures with Alumni of the Year.
In addition, the Early Career Alumni Award went to Erik Edeen, director of Avision Young, and Mallika Winsor, senior associate at Cushman & Wakefield. Student of the Year was Caci Rhuda and the Industry Partner Award went to Cushman & Wakefield.
