Jacqueline Ho is a senior Communication and Marketing major. She spent her summer as a Public Relations Intern at Eric Mower and Associates (EMA) in New York City. EMA is a full-service advertising and marketing agency and the New York City office specializes in public relations for the travel industry. Jacqueline called the NYC office in early May, inquiring if they were still hiring, and sent over her resume. She obtained her sales internship by connecting with a company recruiter at the Sales Competition event in Fall 2015. As a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, Claire had the opportunity to network with representatives from Liberty Mutual at a golf outing event hosted by the fraternity. Cameron Miller, a senior Marketing Major with a DMA concentration and a Communication minor, was the Primary Marketing Research intern for Travelers’ Enterprise Market Research team this summer. He learned of the opportunity through an email sent from the Marketing Department and reached out to the Human Resources contact provided. Junior Auna Harvey arrived 15 minutes early for the School of Business’ popular Career Expo—prepared with a clear strategy and an optimistic attitude.
Harvey is looking for a summer internship in human resources and is particularly interested in programs offered by Travelers, Aetna and United Technologies.
“I’ll try to get across that I’m very personable and comfortable talking to people, and that I can represent a company well,” said Harvey, who developed professional and networking skills as a freshman in the Business Connections Learning Community and later served as a resident adviser there.
