Awojulu Receives Program Access Scholarship

UConn’s risk management programs team would like to congratulate Adegbenro Awojulu, for receiving a 2017 CFA Program Access Scholarship from the CFA Institute.

The CFA Access Scholarship significantly reduces the enrollment and exam registration fees for the CFA Program (originally $930 for Standard Registration), as well as provide the CFA program eBook.

The UConn MS in Financial Risk Management (MSFRM) program is one of less than 275 universities in the world whose curriculum has been distinguished by the CFA Institute as being closely tied to professional practice and can help students prepare for the CFA exams.

Streamlining Provider Data Management Could Save Billions…but Is It Possible?

Health Plan Week– For health insurance companies, an accurate, easy-to-update standardized database for network provider data is the Holy Grail. Along with being a major source of frustration for members, inaccurate provider information negatively impacts claims processing, provider credentialing and the ability to ensure compliance with network adequacy rules. It also can create obstacles for providers that want to create a value-based benefit approach.


Students Weigh In On Law Granting ‘Right to Disconnect’ From Work Emails After Hours

The Daily Campus– In a world of heavy smartphone use, nearly everyone can relate to constant notifications and the “ping” signaling the arrival of another email in their inbox. This year, French employees gained a legal privilege through the “Right to Disconnect” law, which grants them the ability to put their work emails aside outside of normal business hours.





OPIM Workshops for the Spring 2017 Semester

The OPIM Department is excited to announce the schedule for this semester’s technology workshops. The first in a series of skill-building workshops will be held next week, followed by three others over the course of the semester.

All workshops will be held in the OPIM Research Lab (BUSN 391). Food and refreshments will be provided for participants.

Over the course of the spring semester we plan to have the following workshops:

  • Introduction to Linux – Friday, February 10th
  • Introduction to SQL – Friday, February 24th
  • Introduction to SAS  Friday, March 24th
  • Introduction to Raspberry Pi – Friday, April 7th
  • Introduction to Gamification – Friday, April 14th
  • Exploring IOT through SPLUNK Analytics – Friday, April 21st

All workshops will be capped at 20 people so be sure to register online ahead of time.
