Six Cross-Disciplinary Teams Compete in Annual Competition

About 40 UConn business and law students competed and collaborated recently in the second annual Business Law Negotiation Competition, working on the first day of the competition to settle a business dispute and on the second day to reach an agreement to build a dam. Continue Reading


UConn MBA Students Win ACG CT Cup

On April 2, 2012, UConn School of Business won the Third Annual ACG Connecticut Cup Competition.  UConn’s MBA team consisted of Vivek Goel, Isaac Park, Archit Patel, Tom Wang, and Dawei Zheng.  The other schools competing in the competition were Yale University School of Management (2nd place), Sacred Heart University College of Business (3rd place), and Quinnipiac University School of Business (4th place). Continue Reading

The University of Connecticut School of Law hosted the first UConn Law School-UConn Business School Joint Negotiation Competition last month.

UConn MBA Students Win First Prize in APICS Business Case Competition

A team of four UConn MBA students were awarded First Place and Grand Champions in the APICS Northeast Business Case Competition in Albany, N.Y., last month. This is the fourth time that a UConn MBA team has been awarded top honors.

The winning team members are first-year MBA students Jason Harris, Akhilesh Kumar, Jared Siraco, and Yogendra Bhosrekar. As a result of the win, the team will next compete in the Global APICS Competition which will be held in Las Vegas in October. Continue Reading

Sudip Bhattacharjee, associate professor of OPIM, was invited to serve as a member of the 2014 Selects Committee for the premiere INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics and Operations Research held March 30.

Assistant Professor Paul Borochin and Professor Joseph Golec, both of the finance department, presented “Using Options to Measure the Full Value-Effect of an Event: Application to the Healthcare Reform Act” to the University community on February 7. Continue Reading
