UConn Today – Vibrant tones of yellow, orange, and red move in waves across the screen. Although the display looks like psychedelic art, it’s actually providing highly technical medical information – the electrical activity of a beating heart stained with voltage-sensitive dyes to test for injury or disease.
These voltage-sensitive dyes were developed and patented by UConn Health researchers, who have now embarked on commercializing their product for industry as well as academic use.
The UConn School of Business’ Connecticut Information Technology Institute (CITI), in partnership with Stronger International, is planning a series of webinars, a networking event and courses to help business professionals stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly changing field of information presentation and data visualization. Wednesday will see the ribbon cutting for the new Hartford campus, which is relocating from its suburban campus in West Hartford after nearly five decades away from the Capital City. And in Stamford, students will be moving into student housing beginning this weekend, the first time that has been possible.
