The MSBAPM program continues to receive recognition for excellence, with the latest achievement including a No. 6 ranking in the nation from the web site Predictive Analytics Today.

UConn’s graduate program in business analytics and project management ranked higher than its peers, including NYU, North Carolina, Georgia Tech and Cornell. Columbia University ranked No. 5.

“In my opinion, it is a reflection of the quality of the program, the hard work of our faculty and the outstanding curriculum we’re teaching,” said Professor Jose Cruz, the program’s academic director.

“Our students are getting outstanding jobs. We have some 14 or 15 graduates at Amazon, while others are working at McKinsey, Google, JPMorgan Chase, Expedia, Priceline, Aetna, Cigna, The Hartford,” he said.
“I had one recruiter on the phone the other day and she said, ‘You don’t have to sell us on your program. We have your graduates here, and they’re all excellent!'”

The MSBAPM program launched in Hartford in Fall of 2011. Last year the program was expanded to a second location at the Stamford campus. Combined, some 350 to 400 students are enrolled in program, with more than 1,000 applicants vying for places in the 37-credit program. The web site lauded the program’s broad choice of electives, accreditation, impactful research, internships and full or part-time enrollment option.

Cruz said current students are excelling in competitions and he predicts the next classes will be equally successful.

“It is good to be among the best,” Cruz said. “We always thought we could be among the exceptional, and now we’re where we want to be.”
