Careers in Finance: Perspectives from the Hartford CFA Society

On November 11th, 2015, the UConn School of Business Graduate Finance Association (GFA), in collaboration with the Office of Alumni Relations and CFA Society Hartford, hosted this year’s Careers in Finance CFA Panel and Networking Reception. Over 30 students from the Financial Risk Management (FRM), Full-time and Part-time MBA Programs were in attendance.

Panel speakers included CFA Charterholders; all of whom possess extensive experience in the finance and investments field. One of the speakers, John Fuller – CFA, who is also the Vice President of H&H Investment Advisors, said, “The CFA Society Hartford is always looking to improve its relationship with the UConn School of Business Graduate Programs; especially in regards to students focused on finance.”

Armond Hodge, president and founder of the UConn Graduate Finance Association, moderated the discussion-based panel. “It’s important to provide these opportunities where both students and industry leaders are able to connect and learn from one another. That’s what the GFA is all about – preparing members for careers in finance, and giving them access to business leaders.”

Founded in 2015, the University of Connecticut’s Graduate Finance Association (GFA) is a student-run organization that is open to all graduate students.
