MSBAPM Student and Team Win Hartford Hackathon

UConn Graduate student Jacques “Jack” Caspi and his team won first prize in the Hartford InsurTech Digital Health Hackathon from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11. The event was sponsored by Cigna and the first-place award included a $5,000 prize.

Upward Hartford and InsurTech Hartford partnered together to help create the hackathon weekend, a 48-hour event focused on digital health and health insurance. The hackathon weekend gave students the opportunity to meet mentors from around the country, investors who are searching for great ideas, and the chance to learn more about InsurTech from industry coaches.

Caspi is pursuing his master’s degree in business analytics and project management and expects to complete his degree this year.
