Upcoming Conference Brings Energy Leaders Together

Fred Carstensen, professor of finance and economics, will speak at the annual Energy, Environment and Economic Development conference on March 9 from 7 AM to 1:30 PM.

The conference brings together Connecticut leaders from energy and related industries to understand how their businesses interact with environmental policy and development.

Carstensen will give an overview of Connecticut’s economic outlook. He is also the director of the Connecticut Center for Economic Analysis.

Other speakers will include President Daniel Sosland from Acadia Center and Deputy Commissioner Katie Scharf Dykes from the Connecticut DEEP.

The event is hosted by the Connecticut Power and Energy Society.

“Our keynote speakers are Connecticut and regional leaders who will discuss Connecticut’s economic outlook, the legislative and regulatory landscape for environmental policy, and energy initiatives at the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection,” says Eric Johnson, director of external affairs, ISO New England and vice president of CPES. “Our program is designed to fulfill our mission: generating information, sharing ideas and educating Connecticut on energy issues.”
