The University of Connecticut School of Business was proud to host our First Annual Risk Management Conference on November 9, 2012. Over 165 risk management and regulation professionals, faculty members, and graduate students in the Master of Science in Financial Risk Management (MSFRM) program gathered to discuss new challenges and opportunities in the field. Among the many notable guests in attendance were faculty members from several other universities, including Sabanci University in Istanbul, Turkey.
A variety of insightful speakers and panelists tackled topics ranging from creating a more integrated approach to risk management to discussing the nuances involved in balancing stakeholder interests. We were delighted to have University of Connecticut alumnus, Frank Minerva ’81 MBA (Managing Director and COO, UBS Private Wealth Management) as a speaker. The keynote presenter, James Comey, Jr. delivered a particularly entertaining speech drawing on his experience as the United States Deputy Attorney General as well as on his current responsibilities as General Counsel at Bridgewater Associates. A glimpse of the full conference agenda can be found at the event flier link below.
