Suzanne had to complete a variety of tasks on a day to day basis. She saw the entire marketing process from start to finish through working on multiple projects across different product lines, completing research projects, working on marketing collateral for current products and finalizing post launch analyses. Being assigned so many tasks, Suzanne had to manage her time differently at work. She made an interesting point on how time management at school seems easier because students have 24 hour work days, depending on sleep and class schedules. At the office, employees are there for only 8 hours a day leaving more to do in less time. She learned how to manage her time wisely and get tasks done by their respective deadlines. Suzanne’s classes also helped prepare her for the internship. She utilized skills from all areas of business including marketing, accounting, finance and management in order to fulfill her obligations.

Suzanne’s summer at Hubbell Incorporated comprised of many astounding experiences but her most memorable moment was meeting the company’s CEO and executive board. She explained: “As part of our intern program, we got to have lunch with the executive board and ask questions about their positions. They offered advice for us and our careers. It was nice that they took time from their hectic schedules just to talk to all of us.”

The internship at Hubbell Incorporated helped Suzanne realize that she would like a career in marketing analytics or marketing research in the future. Overall, she is very grateful for her summer internship and all that it had to offer.

Suzanne’s advice to others: “Take risks, challenge yourself, and try new things.”
