Ying Xing

Ph.D. Candidate

Finance

My name is Ying Xing, and I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Finance Department at the University of Connecticut. I will be on the job market for the 2025-2026 academic year.

My research explores how product market competition and capital markets shape corporate decision-making. Specifically, I examine the interplay between product market competition, corporate governance, and political investment. I leverage large language models (LLMs) and other AI-based text analysis methods to extract and interpret data from corporate disclosures and labor market sources, enabling new empirical insights into firm behavior and governance.

Prior to joining the University of Connecticut, I received a Master of Science in Management from the University of Florida, a B.S. in Computer Science, and a B.A. in English from Dalian Jiaotong University.
