Tara Vakil joined the UConn Accounting Department as an assistant professor in 2019. Tara holds a B.B.A., a M.S., and a Ph.D., all from Texas A&M University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she worked for ten years at a Big 4 accounting firm, primarily focused on providing audit and advisory services. Tara’s research interests include the effects of standard-setting, regulation, and governance on disclosure and financial statement quality.
