Bob Chauvin ’78 is a senior executive who enjoyed a long and distinguished 35-year career in the fire protection and life safety industry. Bob recently retired from his role as president of Tyco SimplexGrinnell, a longtime industry leader, to enjoy his family and pursue a number of other interests. During his five years as president, he led a team of 10,000 employees with over $2 billion in annual revenue and was responsible for the strategy, vision, and profitability of Tyco SimplexGrinnell in the United States and Tyco Integrated Fire & Security, Canada.
Chauvin remains actively involved with Tyco, continuing to support the business on a consulting basis.
Over the course of his 35-year career in the Life Safety Industry Chauvin held a number of senior leadership roles within the company, including vice president of Northern Operations and vice president & chief financial officer.
Beyond his proven success in delivering strong business results, he has always been strongly committed to community service. He made community commitment part of the fabric of Tyco SimplexGrinnell and the operation of its 150 local offices throughout the U.S and Canada. Chauvin serves on the board of trustees of Heywood Hospital in Gardner, Massachusetts, and the board of directors of the United Way of North Central Massachusetts. He also spearheaded Tyco SimplexGrinnell’s support for expanding the United Way Youth Venture program throughout the United States.
Chauvin lives in Lexington, Massachusetts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the UConn School of Business and an MBA degree from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts.
