Priscilla Cale

Ph.D. Student


Priscilla M. Cale is a Ph.D. student with a concentration in Organizational Behavior. Her research interests cover aspects related to organizational communications, employee engagement and interpersonal and team dynamics.

As an emerging researcher, Priscilla draws on her deep experience as a corporate executive leading strategic, global communications initiatives and matrixed teams. Prior to joining the Ph.D. Program in pursuit of a lifelong goal, she served as vice president of global colleague communications and social media at one of the world’s largest investment management organizations, vice president of communications for the world’s largest tool company, and director of communications digital platforms and employee experience for one of the world’s largest industrial conglomerates. Prior to her corporate experience, she worked at the University of Connecticut furthering outreach and activities related to entrepreneurship, innovation and business strategy serving as director of the Family Business Program, faculty mentor at the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and lecturer in the departments of management and marketing.

Priscilla is co-author of Sink or Swim: How Lessons from the Titanic Can Save Your Family Business with David Tate, Ph.D., Assistant Clinical Professor at Yale University (2011, ABC-CLIO) and an exercise in workforce diversity with Gary N. Powell, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut (2011, Sage Publications).

A lifelong learner, she holds an MBA and Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (with a minor in English) from the University of Connecticut.
