Instruct undergraduate students in The Legal and Ethical Environment of Business (BLAW 3175), Real Estate Law (BLAW 3274), Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship (BLAW 3681), and Fundamentals of Business Law (BLAW 3671).

Biography

Professor Spurling has counseled clients and represented clients in courts for over 26 years and is admitted to practice before the Federal Courts of Connecticut and state courts of Connecticut and Massachusetts. He has an active law practice with an emphasis on business and real estate law while performing legal work for dozens of financial institutions, including Fortune 500 companies. His representation of businesses in formation, acquisitions, sales and litigation allows him to bring anecdotal experiences into the classroom for engaged learning. Professor Spurling also utilizes various media and industry guest lecturers to foster classroom discussion in furtherance of engaged learning. He created and taught a new course Legal Aspects of Entrepreneurship, is a co-recipient of University School of Business Undergraduate Teaching Award and has been recognized numerous times by the University Provost for teaching excellence.
