Consumer-based strategy research with a focus on sustainability, financial decision making, and sports marketing

Biography
Lukas Schnabel is a Marketing Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Connecticut. Broadly, his research is motivated by research questions that lie at the intersection of consumer behavior and marketing strategy. Specifically, he takes a consumer-centered perspective while engaging with questions of strategic relevance, using insights about individuals to inform firm-level decisions. His job market paper, “The impact of voluntary carbon goal announcements on stock returns,” is forthcoming at Management Science.
Prior to starting the doctoral program, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Management from the University of Mannheim, Germany. He was a member of the MSI 2025 Doctoral Seminar on Marketing Strategy and received both the 2025 UConn Department of Marketing Ph.D. Student Outstanding Teaching Award and the 2025 UConn School of Business PhD Student Teacher of the Year Award.
