Biography

Lenny founded The Canton Group with a vision of creating a global consultancy focused on improved business performance through the design and delivery of highly interactive meetings and programs in organizational change, learning, and leadership.

Lenny connects with leaders from different cultures around the world, whether as a speaker in front of large groups, as a facilitator of large-scale meetings, as a learning team facilitator, or as a coach in one-to-one relationships.  Dealing with such diverse topics as safety, process design, ethics, leadership, business practices, or simply personality and relationships, he is able to bring the best out of individuals and groups regardless of their nationality, native language, or country of residence.

He has the ability to truly “get inside” of and understand client organizations.  He has partnered with internal experts to develop robust and creative design concepts for leadership development and learning programs.  He has organized and facilitated meetings and conferences in numerous organizations, functions, and industries.

He has worked around the world with companies such as GE, Lafarge, ING, Shell, Alcatel-Lucent, Pirelli, and others.  Lenny has helped organizations improve performance and produce results by designing and facilitating:

  •   Leadership development programs
  •   Executive off-site strategy meetings and retreats
  •   New manager and team assimilations
  •   Acquisition integration strategy meetings
  •   Process design and improvement sessions
  •   Workshops in a range of subjects pertaining to culture, innovation, communication, and leadership
  •   Labor-management retreats

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated the ability to bring together disparate groups to develop solutions and forge better relationships to resolve their organizations’ business challenges.  After working at the Mayor’s Office of The City of New York, he became an independent consultant working on major projects for the Long Island Rail Road and the cities of Boston and Hartford.  He started his corporate career as an external consultant for the Work-Out process for GE, then progressed through a series of positions in organizational effectiveness, change management, and Human Resources.  He held two different HR Officer roles for national organizations at CIGNA.

He joined the faculty at The University of Connecticut’s Business School in the summer of 2014, teaching courses in Managing Human Capital in the Executive MBA program, and Talent Management in the Graduate School.  In 2008, he joined the global network of facilitators for Mannaz as Senior Business Coach & Facilitator.  He has lectured in the Communications Department at Hunter College-CUNY and at the Cornell-ILR School in New York City.
