Corliss Montesi ’86 is vice president, corporate controller, at Stanley Black & Decker, a worldwide supplier of hand and power tools, industrial equipment, and security solutions. Montesi leads a global organization in all aspects of accounting and controls, shared services and trade compliance. A passionate supporter of women and diversity, she is also an executive sponsor of the newly founded Women’s Network.
Montesi joined Stanley Black & Decker in 2014 from United Technologies Corporation (UTC), where she held various roles of increasing responsibility, including vice president, finance and chief financial officer at Sikorsky Aerospace Services; vice president, controller at Pratt & Whitney; and global director, UTC Internal. While at UTC, Montesi was a founding member and executive sponsor of the UTC Finance Women’s Forum.
Prior to joining UTC, Montesi was a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), spending much of her time on issues associated with financial instruments, derivatives, and hedging (FAS 133). She started her career as an audit associate at Deloitte Haskins and Sells.
Montesi holds a BS in accounting from UConn and an MBA in finance from the University of Bridgeport. She is a CPA in the state of Connecticut, a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs, for which she also serves on the Advisory Council, and a member of the Financial Executives Institute. Corliss also serves on the advisory council for the UConn Accounting Department and is a board member for the American Heart Association, CT and Western MA, for which she is also on the Executive Leadership Team for the Hartford Heart Walk.
Montesi resides in Wallingford, CT with her husband Mark (UConn’ 84), and daughters Christina and Alyssa.
