Biography

Sami is an Assistant Professor of Strategy In-Residence at the University of Connecticut School of Business. He leads the strategic management capstone course and the content entrepreneurship course. The latter equips students with the skills to excel in the digital era, emphasizing the strategic creation of content as a viable and sustainable career path.

Beyond the classroom, Dr. Ghaddar oversees two major case competitions at UConn: the UConn Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Case Competition, established in Fall 2023, and the UConn Strategy Consulting Case Competition, launched in Spring 2024. These platforms provide students with opportunities to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios under the mentorship of industry executives, including C-suite leaders from Fortune 500 companies and distinguished UConn alumni. Additionally, he serves as the faculty advisor and mentor for the UConn Case Club, supporting students as they compete in strategy case competitions nationally and internationally.

Dr. Ghaddar’s research focuses on the intersection of corporate governance, innovation, and firm performance, examining the efficacy of board-level specialized committees and their impact on firms’ strategic choices. His work informs his teaching, enriching the learning experience with current research findings.

Currently, he is exploring the use of generative AI in business education, focusing on its potential to enhance classroom learning. His research aims to integrate advanced technologies with traditional teaching methods, preparing students more effectively for the evolving demands of the business world.
