Biography:

Professor Weber joined the UConn faculty in 2005 after earning a PhD in Accounting from the University of Colorado. He has since been honored with awards for both his research and his teaching. He is also a licensed CPA (Ohio) and worked in public accounting prior to pursuing a career in academics. Professor Weber's research centers on financial reporting and tax issues. His work has been published in leading accounting and tax journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, National Tax Journal and others. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Taxation Association and a frequent reviewer for other academic journals. His research has been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2006 Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award from the American Accounting Association and the 2012 Best Paper Award for the UConn School of Business. Professor Weber currently teaches a PhD seminar on tax research and Intermediate Accounting II in the undergraduate program, for which he received the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for 2007-2008 (as voted by the senior Accounting majors). He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, the National Tax Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
