Biography:
Professor Weber joined the University of Connecticut faculty in 2005 after earning a PhD in Accounting at the University of Colorado and has since been honored with awards for both his research and his teaching. He is also a licensed CPA (Ohio) and worked in public accounting prior to pursuing a career in academics.
Professor Weber's research centers on areas of both financial reporting and tax. He is interested in the effects of tax policy and financial reporting practices on capital markets, corporate decisions, and financial analysts’ forecasts. He was chosen as one of ten recipients nationwide of a Deloitte & Touche Doctoral Fellowship in 2004, and was the 2006 winner of the American Taxation Association/PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award.
Professor Weber currently teaches Intermediate Accounting II (ACCT 3202) and was honored with the Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for 2007-2008 (as voted by the senior Accounting majors). He is also a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, the National Tax Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
