Sami is an Assistant Professor of Strategy In-Residence at the University of Connecticut School of Business. He leads the strategic management capstone course, MENT 4900, and the content entrepreneurship course, MENT 2236. The latter course bridges traditional strategic frameworks with the evolving digital landscape, equipping students with the skills to excel in the digital era. It emphasizes the strategic creation of content as a viable, monetizable, and sustainable career path.

Beyond the classroom, Ghaddar oversees two major case competitions at UConn. He established the UConn Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Case Competition in Fall 2023 and the UConn Strategy Consulting Case Competition in Spring 2024, both platforms for students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios under the mentorship of high-caliber executives, including C-suite leaders from Fortune 500 companies, many of whom are distinguished UConn alumni. Additionally, Ghaddar is the faculty advisor and mentor for the Husky Case Competition Club at UConn, supporting students as they compete in strategy case competitions at both national and international levels.

Ghaddar’s research intersects corporate governance, innovation, and firm performance, examining the efficacy of board-level specialized committees and compositional characteristics on firms’ strategic choices. His work informs his teaching, enriching his students’ learning experience with cutting-edge insights.

Currently, Ghaddar is exploring the use of generative AI in business education, focusing on its potential to enhance learning in the classroom. His research aims to integrate these advanced technologies with traditional teaching methods, preparing students more effectively for the evolving demands of the business world.

Holding a Ph.D. in Business (2021) from Bentley University, where he was a recipient of the Harold S. Geneen Doctoral Fellowship in Business, Ghaddar’s academic credentials also include an MBA (2015) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (2010) from the American University of Beirut. His international academic background informs his unique approach to teaching and research.

Ghaddar’s commitment to excellence in education, research, and practical application underscores his ambition to contribute to shaping the future of the UConn School of Business and its stakeholders.
