Garth Monroe joined the UConn faculty in fall 2020. He served as CFO in the private equity, biotech industry, including CRG, a four-billion dollar fund manager. Responsibilities included: accounting, finance, tax, treasury, human resources, information technology, legal, real estate, and supply chain.
He also served as CFO at Epocal, acquired by Alere for 255-million dollars. Other professional experience includes the aerospace industry; he served as station manager at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport for JetBlue Airways, and also worked at Pratt & Whitney’s Middletown Engine Center.
He is a CPA (inactive), with an MBA from the University of Virginia, Darden Graduate School of Business; he graduated summa cum laude as an Honors Scholar from the University of Connecticut; he also served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
For more than twenty years, Garth has volunteered in his local communities, including Houston Hospice Texas Medical Center, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
