Marketing Professor Bill Ryan is Honored with Undergrad Career Mentor Award

The award is presented to an individual who has exceled as a career mentor. Ryan joined the faculty in 2011, and currently serves as the academic director of the Professional Sales Leadership Program.

Marketing professor Bill Ryan has been selected as the recipient of the Student Nominated Undergraduate Faculty Career Mentor of the Year for the 2022-2023 academic year. The award is presented to an individual who has exceled as a career mentor. Ryan joined the faculty in 2011, and currently serves as the academic director of the Professional Sales Leadership Program. He brings more than 20 years of private sector experience to his role, most recently as a second vice president at Travelers. He previously worked in marketing, brand and consumer management at CIGNA, Campbell’s Soup, Pepsi-Cola and The Gillette Co.

Robin Coulter, head of the marketing department, said the award is well deserved.

“Bill does yeoman’s work on behalf of the Marketing Department, working with and mentoring our students, and also representing our department at Open Houses and UConn Bound Days,’’ she said. “In the classroom, Bill works tirelessly to ensure that our students get the best he has to offer, teaching and mentoring students marketing management, sales management and leadership, and digital marketing strategy. In addition to his work with our students, Bill’s positivity and can-do attitude, willingness to collaborate with faculty, and engagement with our alums is an example for all of us.’’
