CPA Society Names ‘New and Young Professionals to Watch’

The Connecticut Society of CPAs has announced its 2016 “New and Young Professionals to Watch,” a select group of three up-and-comers, aged 35 and younger, who have set themselves apart as emerging leaders in the accounting profession.

UConn Management Professor Wins Two Lifetime Achievement Awards

UConn Management Professor John Mathieu has received two lifetime achievement awards, in two months, recognizing his work in the field of leadership and organizational management.

Mathieu is well-known for his research on team dynamics, including strategies for astronauts to minimize conflict during long trips, such as a future journey to Mars.

United Steel Ends 2016 With Three Industry Awards

East Hartford steel fabricator United Steel Inc. has received three honors from industry organizations throughout the region.

The company was named one of the “Top Workplaces” in the Greater Hartford region, won a merit award from the Massachusetts Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors organization, and received a community service award from the Connecticut Construction Industry Association.

CT’s ‘e-regs’ tracking system recognized

Connecticut's “eRegulations” system has been recognized by the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, as part of its 2017 Bright Ideas initiative.

Known as “eRegs”, the Connecticut Secretary of the State's online system provides access to all agency regulation-making records with real-times updates. The program is centrally located for easy tracking rather than navigating through a variety of different agencies.

It has user-friendly search and browse features and email alerts.
