Connecticut Invention Convention

Connecticut Invention Convention (“CIC”) is a non-profit educational organization that has been promoting creativity and problem-solving skills for local children in grades K-8 for over 27 years. Children who participate tackle real-life problems with their inventions and learn important skills that nurture interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) as well as business/entrepreneurship careers.

In this SCOPE project, an interdisciplinary team of students from both the School of Business and the School of Engineering will be working to provide business strategy and marketing solutions to CIC to further its mission. The team’s goals include broadening awareness and increasing CIC presence and participation in Connecticut schools, boosting parental involvement in STEM education, and preparing the organization for expansion.
