As
one of 30 CIBERs located in universities throughout the
U.S., the UConn CIBER is mandated to increase the competitiveness
of U.S. businesses in the global marketplace. Given the
number of high-technology firms in the New England region
and the strong technology management programs already in
existence at the University of Connecticut, its CIBER activities
focus on Global Technology Management.
The UConn CIBER focuses its efforts in Global Technology
Management in three main areas: Academic Programs, Business
and Academic Outreach, and Research Programs. These areas
filter down into six principal activities:
- Ph.D., MBA, and undergraduate course development and
enhancement
- Programs for faculty and advanced degree students
- Curricular research and development
- Seminars and courses for international business
executives
- Programs for faculty at other New England and U.S.
educational institutions, and for leaders of professional
associations
- Applied business research in Global Technology
Management
These programs are designed and coordinated by faculty
members of the UConn SBA, the Languages Department, and the
School of Engineering, with the assistance of the CIBER
Director and the Advisory Council.
