About Uconn's CIBER Program CIBER Events

The University of Connecticut's CIBER academic programs include Ph.D., MBA, and undergraduate course development and enhancement, programs for faculty and advanced degree students, and curricular research and development.

The core component of the Academic Programs area is the creation of a fully globalized MBA program with emphasis on technology. To this end, ten existing international or technology management courses are being enhanced to include a global or technology component. In addition, four new courses are being designed, including one in business language/culture.

Other academic programs to be implemented by the UConn CIBER include:

  • A certificate program in the Area Studies for Undergraduate business students
  • Development of an undergraduate international business course which will be taught at an overseas location
  • Development of an international negotiations course for MBA students for instruction in cross-cultural communications
  • Enhancement of the Ph.D. seminar in management to include global content
  • Establishment of an Academy of Global Economic Advancement providing faculty, in business, languages, law, medicine, engineering and social sciences with significant global interest, an opportunity to periodically meet and discuss specific global issues
  • Grants for development of instructional materials in Global Management including case studies, simulation exercises, videos and other interactive methods.
