Michael A. Hitt is a Distinguished Professor and holds the Joseph Foster Chair in Business Leadership and the C W & Dorothy Conn Chair in New Ventures at Texas A&M University. Currently, in addition to serving on the Board of Strategic Management Society, he is coordinator of the Strategic Management Society Book Series. He is also Co-Editor of the new Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.
He has authored or co-authored many journal articles published in such journals as the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Academy of Management Executive, among others. He has co-authored numerous books on management and strategic management topics. He is a former editor of the Academy of Management Journal, and former president of the Academy of Management. He is a Fellow in the Academy of Management and a member of the Academy of Management Journals' Hall of Fame. He has received awards from the American Society of Competitiveness for Outstanding Academic Contributions (1996) and Outstanding Intellectual Contributions (1999) to Competitiveness.
