| External Business Major
Scholarships: The following
scholarship information was sent to the School of
Business from the University's Financial Aid Office.
These are private scholarships, therefore the University
and the School of Business does not award these
scholarships:

Jim Roberts Scholarship - Full-time student enrolled
in sophomore, junior or senior year with a minimum GPA
of 3.0. Students must have an interest in Business or
Human Resources.

Price Choppers Golub Foundation Scholarship -
This scholarship is offering a Graduate or Professional
School scholarship to a graduating college senior or
returning student who is planning on attending graduate
school as a fully matriculated, first year graduate
student.

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Essay
Scholarship - The National Association of Black
Accountants Inc. was established in 1969, in New York,
NY. In December of 1969, an organization was
established to address the concerns of minorities
entering the accounting profession and to make a
commitment to professional and academic excellence.
The
scholarship committee has approved up to $8,000 in
scholarships to be awarded to various candidates
majoring in business at one of southern and western New
England’s two or four year colleges or universities.

100 Years of Women Scholarship - This scholarship
was established in 1992 to honor a current UCONN
undergraduate or graduate student (who will be enrolled
for the Fall 2008 semester) or high school senior
planning to enroll in the University of Connecticut, who
has demonstrated a commitment to women’s issues through
service to their community or school.

The Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants
- CSCPA offers various scholarships to undergraduate
students and for students seeking to become a CPA.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) Scholarship - PwC
offers a $3000 scholarship to Management Information
Systems and Accounting majors from diverse backgrounds.
Attending the annual diversity conference and an
internship with PwC is awarded.

Candidates Award -
Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants
offers a $3,000 scholarship for students seeking to
complete the 150 credit hours required to take the CPA
exam. Recipients must have completed 120 credits
from an accredited school/college, 3.0 gpa, CT residents
and have accepted employment with a firm or company in
Connecticut.

Liberty Mutual Scholarship - Liberty Mutual
is offering $5,000 scholarships to provide recognition
of and financial assistance to outstanding students from
all academic majors. The scholarship will be
awarded to junior and senior level students for the
2007-2008 academic year. Juniors who continue to
qualify will be able to renew their scholarship for a
2nd consecutive year.

Connecticut
Broadcasters Association Scholarship -
Connecticut residents only. Awards are made to students
attending or planning to attend in-state and
out-of-state schools. Awards are only for students
pursuing a career in broadcasting, marketing,
engineering, or electronics. Awards will be made to
University and College students entering 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
or 4th year of study. The deadline is March
31st.

American Association of Attorney - Certified Public
Accountants -
Essay Contest -
Our Foundation's mission is to promote the study and
understanding of the fields of Law and Accounting and
those related professions.

Eastern States Women's Traffic Conference Scholarship
-
Any student
enrolled in a degree program in an accredited
institution of higher learning. Students must be
majoring in transportation, logistics, maritime law and
other international business related
studies. Awarded on the basis of scholastic ability,
professional interest, and character.

The University of Connecticut 100 Years of Women
Scholarship -
was established in
1992 to honor a current UCONN undergraduate or graduate
student, or high school senior planning to enroll in the
University of Connecticut , who has demonstrated a
commitment to women's issues through service to their
community or school.

The Appraisal Institute - is offering an academic
scholarship to full-time students in the field of real
estate. Applications are available in the School of

SBM Foundation Scholarships
- For students living in Hartford, Tolland and Windham
Counties.

Malcolm Baldrige Scholarship
- To encourage Connecticut students to pursue careers in
international business/trade or manufacturing.

New England Direct Marketing Association
Scholarship
- For marketing, advertising or communication students
who will have completed their sophomore or junior year
by June.

National Federation of the Blind
Scholarship - For a high
achieving legally blind full-time or part-time student.
Printed applications also available in the School of
Business, 121 and at the Financial Aid Office, Wilbur
Cross.

Insurance Scholarship Foundation of
America
-
Offered
to junior and senior students whose major or minor
course of study is Insurance, Risk Management, or
Actuarial Science.

American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants Scholarship -
Numerous scholarships
from AICPA, other
organizations and CPA firms.

New
England States G.F.O.A Government Finance Scholarship
-Recognizing outstanding performance in
undergraduate and graduate accounting studies and
encouraging careers in state and local government
finance.
Internal School of
Business Scholarships:
- Continuing
students are encouraged to apply for internal School of
Business Scholarships each spring semester.
Applications will be available in the Undergraduate
Programs Office, Room 121 in mid to late February.
- Students are encouraged to
contact local civic organizations, religious
affiliations, high school guidance offices and libraries
for possible scholarship opportunities.

- Freshman are automatically
considered for most scholarships administered by the
University of Connecticut upon application for
admission. In most cases, a separate application is not
necessary.
- A separate application is required for UConn’s
Nutmeg Scholarship and the Day of Pride Scholarship.

- In-State transfer students are automatically
considered for the University of Connecticut
Partnership Scholarship upon application for
admission.

UConn Honors Students:
- Office of
National Scholarships - The Office of National
Scholarships (ONS) recruits and mentors high-achieving
students to compete for prestigious national
scholarships.

Office of
Undergraduate Research - The (OUR) helps students
find research opportunities with UConn faculty in
virtually every discipline offered by the University.
Interested students may begin an undergraduate research
experience as early as their first year on campus.
Funding for student research and scholarship is also
provided by the OUR through two grant competitions.
