In the second year students focus their studies in any two of the five concentrations.
Concentrations enable MBA candidates to explore an area of business in
greater depth to prepare for specific careers. By March of their first
year, full-time MBA students are required to choose two concentrations,
a primary and a secondary, from the five that have been designed
specifically for the Storrs program. Students are required to take four
specific courses in their primary concentration and three courses in
their secondary concentration. The concentrations are:
In addition to the established concentrations, a student may petition to design
an individualized secondary concentration. This individualized concentration,
in combination with a chosen primary concentration, must create a specific skill
set which enhances the student's career objectives. This petition must be approved
by the MBA Program Director and the department head of the student's primary
concentration.
