The UConn School of Business Advanced Business Certificate (ABC) is designed to meet the special needs of experienced professionals, managers and executives who have significant work experience in their field. The ABC Program is intended to provide instruction in a specific subject area that is important for an individual's job performance and career development, and represents a substantial learning experience at the graduate level.

ABC Program

An Advance Business Certificate consists of four courses (12 credits) identified to fill the advanced educational needs of experienced professionals. Because these courses are advanced, graduate courses, it may be necessary to satisfy prerequisites.

All courses are taught by University of Connecticut faculty. All faculty possess advanced degrees, and are active in academic and practitioner research, and maintain strong ties to the business community. Additionally, corporate partners from the business community are frequently invited as guest lecturers.

Certificates are offered in several areas including:

  • ABC in Business Analytics
  • ABC in Information Technology, audit
  • ABC in Marketing Intelligence
  • ABC in Marketing For Global Competitiveness
  • ABC in Project Management
  • ABC in Strategic Brand Management
  • ABC in Health Care Finance and Insurance

Application & Admissions

Ideal candidates for the ABC program are eager to share knowledge, exchange ideas and discuss current business issues with colleagues, motivated professors and educated professionals.

Applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution and fulfill the prerequisites for the ABC courses.

Applications to the ABC program are accepted on a rolling basis. Applicants should include the following information along with the ABC application:

  • Official transcripts in English from each college or university attended.
  • A current resume.
  • Written personal letter of intent explaining goals and expectations for the ABC program.
