Emily Reik '09(6/10/2009) - It is with sadness that the UConn School of Business informs of the death of one of our recent graduates. Emily Reik, a May 2009 graduate of the School of Business, passed away on Saturday, June 6. Born January 25, 1987 in Hartford, she was the cherished daughter of Nancy Susan Rosenbaum and Jonathan Frederick Reik. Emily was a graduate of Glastonbury High School, designated by her graduating class of 2005 as "Everyone's Best Friend." Emily was a most kind-hearted gentle and caring person always more concerned for others than herself. Her warm and gentle nature easily attracted people and brought her both a wide circle of acquaintances and several very close and loyal friends. Emily was a 2009 graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Business, with a major in Health Care Management and a minor in Psychology. She loved art, traveling, running and cooking. She is survived by her immediate family, parents Nancy Rosenbaum of Glastonbury, Jonathan Reik of East Hartford, and by her sister, Lindsay Reik of Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Emily can consider a donation to either the Boys & Girls Club of America, with whom Emily had worked, or to the UConn Foundation.
