Today, positions are being filled without ever being advertised, through hidden leads, referrals, etc. Until recently, people were reluctant to network, but today it is expected, accepted, and vital to a successful job search. The primary function of networking is to uncover hidden lead as well as industry-specific information and contacts. It is the process of purposefully developing relationships with others and making connections with people in your target companies. Our alumni community has many business leaders in accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, information technology and real estate among other fields, as well as people looking to network into that next position. If you could benefit from enhancing your network of business contacts, join your fellow School of Business alumni and current MBA students for an evening of networking at one of the following upcoming events. It's an opportunity for alumni to find their next business partner, potential client, or just to meet a few new people. | Speed Networking in Tough Times Stamford, CT Tuesday, June 9, 2009 6:00-8:00 PM Stamford, CT | | UConn School of Business Golf Clinic & Networking Event Thursday, June 11, 2009 6:00-8:00 PM Hartford, CT | | UConn School of Business Alumni Reception in Philadelphia, PA Wednesday, June 17, 2009 6:00-8:30 PM Philadelphia, PA | Also, take advantage of the Career Network, a feature of the Business Alumni Network.
