The School is now ranked #28 among all public business schools, an increase of 2 spots over last year’s ranking. The School remains #1 in New England and is #48 among all business schools nationally. Undergraduate specialty programs are also ranked by US News. The School’s Real Estate specialty climbed two spots to be ranked at #6. The Insurance and Risk Management specialty maintained its top #12 ranking. Read More | FORBES RANKS UCONN MBA PROGRAM 12TH FOR ROI AMONG U.S. PUBLIC BUSINESS SCHOOLS The University of Connecticut School of Business’ Full-Time MBA Program was ranked in the top 50 U.S. MBA Programs in Forbes’ 6th biennial MBA Program ROI rankings. Among public institutions alone, UConn ranks 12th nationally and is ranked 27th among all U.S. institutions. UConn’s MBA Program is ranked #1 for ROI among public business schools in New England and is one of only five business schools in New England to be ranked in the top 30 nationally, along with Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT and Yale. Read More | Center for Audit Quality Awards Funding to Project by Rosman The Center for Audit Quality (CAQ) has announced the selection of auditing-related research projects by the CAQ’s Research Advisory Board (RAB). Andrew Rosman, Associate Professor, Accounting Department, UConn School of Business was among the awardees. In response to a request for proposals (RFP) issued in March, academics from around the world submitted nearly 50 proposals that addressed one of four topics: audit quality, professional judgment, professional skepticism, and the value of the audit. Read More | Company of EMBA Alum Recognized on INC500's List of Fastest Growing Private Companies Khash Sarrafi started a consulting company in 2001 and was a one-man show. The company had a limited amount of business, and Sarrafi outsourced work to a friend. Then he applied for UConn’s EMBA Program, where he graduated in 2007. Now, Sarrafi’s new company, Castle Rock Innovations, is being recognized on the Inc500 list of the fastest growing private companies, experiencing 700% growth in 2008. Millions do not now have protection or security against the economic effects of sickness. The time has arrived for action to help them attain that opportunity and that protection.”The time was November 19, 1945, and the president was Harry S. Truman. He was unveiling a health care reform proposal that included, as its controversial centerpiece, a national health insurance plan to be run by the federal government. The idea was that people could choose to get their health insurance from the government instead of through a private insurer. Geist ’75 was recently appointed to the board of directors at AdEx Media, Inc., located in Alamo, California.
