UConn Wins Inaugural Deloitte Northeast Audit Case Study Competition (3/4/2008) - UConn accounting students placed first in Deloitte's inaugural Northeast Audit Case Study Competition which was held on February 16 at Deloitte in New York City. UConn beat out three other "Big East" schools - Villanova, Rutgers and Syracuse - to capture first place. UConn goes on to compete in the national round of the Audit Case Competition in April in Arizona.The six students - Katie Buckley, Melissa Kitch, Stephanie Landry, Brendan McCarthy, Joe Romeo, and Carly Wasik – making up UConn's team are all junior accounting majors in the School of Business. "The students represented UConn tremendously well and were models of poise, intelligence and professionalism in their presentation," said Dr. Larry J. Gramling, professor of Accounting and the student's faculty mentor.
