UConn School of Business Briefs - March 2008Storrs, CT (3/5/2008) - In this issue: Dean Earley and Subash Jain speak on globalization; Accounting professor appointed to Board; New School of Business rankings released; Business Placement & Career Center adds staff; and Stew Leonard Jr. speaks at the Family Business Conference. Reporter Tom Monahan of NBC 30's Connecticut Newsmakers speaks with Dean Chris Earley and Subash Jain, director of UConn's Center for International Business Education & Research, about globalization and its impact on Connecticut and the U.S. in general. Connecticut Newsmakers is a weekly program that highlights state issues and government leaders.View the Video > Dr. George Plesko has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Tax Policy Institute. This is a three year appointment. Dr. Plesko also recently served as a panelist for the Merrimac Valley Venture Forum. The UConn School of Business Undergraduate Program has again been ranked the #1 public business program in New England by Business Week. For 2008, the School of Business is ranked 25th in the country among public institutions. Kelly Kennedy was appointed Program Manager of the Business Placement & Career Center. Kelly comes to UConn from Healthyworkplaces, Inc., where she provided coaching, planning, training and career development to recent college graduates. Kelly also served as Director of Business Relationships at DBM, Inc., a global outplacement, coaching, and career management firm.
