New Faculty & Staff - Fall 2007 (1/28/2008) - On the move - new faculty and staff appointments for Fall 2007.NEW DEPARTMENT HEADS ANNOUNCED Dr. Robin Coulter, Professor of Marketing and Ackerman Scholar, was recently appointed Head of the Marketing Department. Dr. Chinmoy Ghosh, Professor of Finance, was appointed Head of the Finance Department. Dr. Ram Gopal, GE Capital Endowed Professor of Business, was appointed Head of the Operations & Information Management Department. Dr. Shantaram Hegde, Professor of Finance, was appointed Associate Dean of Graduate Programs and Interim Director of Executive Education Programs. Dr. John Mathieu, Professor of Management and Cizik Chair, was recently appointed Head of the Management Department. FACULTY ADDITIONS Xue Bai, Assistant Professor in Operations and Information Management. Dr. Bai holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Carnegie Mellon University. Mary Caravella, Assistant Professor In-Residence in Marketing. Dr. Caravella holds a DBA in Business from Harvard University. James Forest, Instructor In-Residence in Finance. Mr. Forest holds an MS in Finance from Northeastern University. Brian Hentz, Instructor In-Residence in Management. Mr. Hentz holds an MBA in Business Administration from Iowa State University. Po-Hsuan (Paul) Hsu, Assistant Professor in Finance. Dr. Hsu holds a PhD in Finance from Columbia University. Hongju Liu, Instructor in Marketing. Mr. Liu holds an MBA in Marketing from University of Chicago. Daniel Purushotham, Assistant Professor In-Residence in Management. Dr. Purushotham holds a PhD in Adult & Vocational Education from UConn. A. Paul Ramunni, Instructor In-Residence in Accounting. Mr. Ramunni holds an MSA in Accounting from Long Island University. Gregory Reilly, Assistant Professor in Management. Dr. Reilly holds a PhD in Business from University of Wisconsin. David Souder, Assistant Professor in Management. Dr. Souder holds a PhD in Business Administration from University of Minnesota. Luke Weinstein, Instructor In-Residence in Management. Mr Weinstein holds an MBA in Marketing from University of Pennsylvania and is completing his PhD in Marketing from UConn. Dmitry Zhdanov, Assistant Professor in Operations and Information Management. Dr. Zhdanov holds a PhD in Business Administration from University of Minnesota. STAFF APPOINTMENTS Margaret Brown was appointed Computer Technical Support Consultant III (UCP VIII) in the School's Information Technology Services Department. Margaret comes to the School of Business from UConn's Instructional Design and Development/ITL where she was a Media Developer/Instructional Developer. Jennifer Dean was appointed Publicity and Marketing Manager (UCP VII) for the School of Business. Most recently Jenn was an Administrative Specialist on special payroll in the School of Business managing web projects. Cheryl (Cheri) Dondero was appointed Administrative Coordinator (UCP V) in the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Cheri comes to us from UConn's department of Civil & Environmental Engineering where she was an Administrative Services Specialist II. Kathryn (Katie) Huntington was appointed Administrative Coordinator (UCP V) in the Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Katie comes to us from The Hartford where she was a Plan Manager. Nathan Ives was appointed Alumni Relations Program Manager (UCP VII) for the School of Business. Nathan comes to us from the University of Connecticut Alumni Association where he was Manager of Alumni Relations, School and College Programs. Lauren Knoll was appointed Program Coordinator (UCP V) in the Undergraduate Programs Office. Lauren comes to us from Boston University where she was an Academic Counselor in the College of Communications. Jud Saviskas was appointed Executive Director of the Business Placement & Career Center. Jud has over 26 years of experience in human resources and career counseling, most recently working in Alumni Career Services at Fairfield University. Diana Timlin was appointed Director of Development. Diana has over 22 years of experience in fundraising, most recently as Director of Development at the University of New Haven.
