Public Accounting Report Ranks UConn Accounting Programs

Storrs, CT (11/27/2007) - UConn's undergraduate Accounting program and Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) program debuted in this year's Public Accounting Report (PAR) annual rankings.

In its October 31, 2007 edition the PAR published the results of its 26th Annual Survey of Accounting Professors in which UConn's undergraduate Accounting program ranked 34th and the MSA program ranked 18th.

The annual survey asks Accounting professors, department heads and department chairs to identify those undergraduate and graduate programs that offer degrees in Accounting they feel most consistently turn out students capable of some day attaining partner status.

Capturing the top spot in all three program areas – undergraduate, graduate and doctoral – was the University of Texas at Austin. Among other schools ranked in the survey were Brigham Young University, University of Illinois, and the University of Notre Dame.

The PAR is published semi-monthly by CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, and is the leading independent newsletter for the Accounting profession.
