2011 Competition Information

For the second year, The CCEI hosted a university-wide business plan competition. Plans for unique business ideas or innovations of any type were considered. All plans submitted were reviewed by a team of professional and experienced entrepreneurs, and additionally, new this year, the CCEI held a workshop dedicated to polishing the plans so they were ready for submission. The conference organizers' goal was to help competitors actualize your ideas, regardless of if they were selected as a winner.

Student teams, especially interdisciplinary teams (ex. team members from business, engineering, and fine arts majors working together) were encouraged - it helped the teams gain a wide array of perspectives about their ideas. Students of all academic levels, from undergraduate to PhD, were all welcome. The motto of the competition was "Its time to take your idea, invention, or innovative process and turn it into a reality."

The winners, pictured below, were Tennis Professionals, a team comprised of two senior Resource Economics majors, Andrew Marcus '11 and Jesse Silkoff '11, presented the most well-developed business plan and were awarded the grand prize. Second prize went to Hemskies, and third to Combat to College.
