The Journal of Management (JOM) is committed to publishing scholarly empirical and theoretical research articles, that have a high impact on the management field as a whole. The journal encourages new ideas or new perspectives on existing research. The journal covers such areas as:
- Strategic management
- Organizational behavior
- Human resource management
- Organizational theory
- Entrepreneurship
Review Issues are published biannually in June and December. These issues include widely read and widely cited collections of articles in the field of management and have become a major source for management scholars. The Review Issues cover a broad range of topics from a wide range of academic disciplines, methodologies, and theoretical paradigms.

Talya N. Bauer has a Ph.D. degree in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from Purdue University in Indiana. She joined the Portland State University faculty in 1994. Dr. Bauer teaches organizational behavior, negotiations, as well as training and development at the graduate and undergraduate level. She conducts research about relationships at work. More specifically, she works in the areas of leadership, selection, and new employee socialization which have resulted in dozens of journal publications. She has acted as a consultant for dozens of government, Fortune 1000, and start-up organizations. Dr. Bauer is involved in professional organizations and conferences at the national level such as serving on the Human Resource Management Executive Committee of the Academy of Management. She is currently the editor of the Journal of Management. She has also served on the editorial boards for the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, and Journal of Organizational Behavior. She has co-authored textbooks on Organizational Behavior and Principles of Management.

Scott E. Seibert received his PhD from the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University and is currently an Associate Professor in the department of Management and Organizations at the University of Iowa. His interests in personality, motivation and social networks inform his research on empowerment, careers, and entrepreneurship. He has published in top journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology and the Journal of Vocational Behavior. His work has been recognized with two major research awards (the 2004 Best Published Paper from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management and the 2001 Best Paper Award in Academy of Management Journal) and two Best Paper Awards from the Careers Division of the Academy of Management (in 1999 and 2006). He is currently on the editorial boards of the AMJ, PPsych, and AMR. He has been co-investigator on competitively funded research grants totaling nearly $400k. He teaches executive, MBA, and undergraduate classes in organizational behavior and leadership.
Scott Seibert is an Associate Professor and Tippie Research Fellow in the Department of Management & Organizations at the University of Iowa. He received his PhD from the New York State School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Cornell University. His interests in personality, motivation and social networks inform his research on empowerment, careers, and entrepreneurship.

Dr. Lumpkin holds the Kent R. Hance Endowed Chair in Entrepreneurship. He is an internationally recognized researcher and lecturer in the areas of entrepreneurial orientation, family business, opportunity recognition, entrepreneurial learning, new venture strategies, and strategy making processes. Dr. Lumpkin is a co-author (with G. Dess and A. Eisner) of the textbook Strategic Management: Creating Competitive Advantages, now in its 4th edition. He earned the PhD from U. of Texas at Arlington, the MBA from the U. of Southern California, and the BA in Philosophy from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia.
