In describing the UConn School of Business at this moment, 76 years into its accomplished history, the word “engaged” captures the essence. Our students, faculty and staff are engaged with each other, with our alumni, with the corporate community and with the University.

The School’s growth has been extraordinary, both in terms of enrollment and creating and maintaining vibrant, effective and relevant academic programs. We are transforming the future—of our students, our state, our industries and our world. There is much to celebrate.

Pursuing Your MBA Could Be A Matter Of Looking Out Your Window…

HYPE Blog– Master degrees in Business Administration (MBAs) seem like they’re a dime a dozen. And if you look at any compiled list of colleges and universities that offer MBAs, it certainly looks like it. But there are a small number of schools that can boast their MBA return on investment (ROI) are “among the best in the country with affordable tuition and competitive base salaries”. Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could say you got your MBA from a school that ranks in the top 25 public universities by US News, or in the top 100 MBA programs by the Financial Times, or in the top schools by Forbes Magazine and Business Week?


Rapid Growth Means UConn Won’t Consolidate Business School With Downtown Campus

Hartford Courant – The University of Connecticut will not consolidate its graduate business school in the city because the school’s enrollment is growing too rapidly to fit into the university’s new downtown campus.


AACSB International Extends Global Business or Accounting Accreditation For More Than Sixty Schools, Across Eleven Countries

AACSB International – AACSB International announced today that 64 business schools have extended their accreditation in business, and 24 schools have extended their accreditation in accounting.

Seasoned Professors Take on New Roles in Accounting, Management

In their new roles as department heads in management and accounting, Professors Lucy Gilson and George Plesko say they plan to build on their departments’ traditions of success while expanding partnerships within and beyond UConn.

“I am honored to take the helm of the management department and humbled by the trust that my colleagues have placed in me,” Gilson said. “This is a fantastic department with some of the most productive scholars at the University and some of the finest teachers. The Cornell HR Review Invites Essays from Undergraduate and Graduate Students

The Cornell HR Review is proud to announce its 6th Annual Student Essay Competition, sponsored by Shell, Dell and GE! They encourage submissions from all students pursuing a graduate or undergraduate HR-related degree—including labor relations, industrial/organizational psychology, and business.

Prizes for the competition are: $1000 for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third. Winning essays will be published in the HR Review. Additionally, winners will be invited to attend the Cornell Human Capital Symposium in Fall 2015—an excellent opportunity to interact with some of the world’s top HR executives.

Essays must address one of three prompts and be between 1,000-1,600 words.  All submissions are due by April 14, 2015.
