Newman’s Own Foundation Commits $6.7M to Veterans Causes
Associated Press – Newman’s Own Foundation, founded by the late actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, honored Senators Bob and Elizabeth Dole for their commitment to public service and especially their devoted leadership and support of veterans. An announcement was made at a special reception held in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, DC and attended by members of Congress, veterans, and organizations supporting veterans.

The Ridgefield Press – The UConn Foundation has received a $7,500 grant from the Rotary Club of Ridgefield that will support the UConn School of Business’ Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), a program offering cutting-edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management for post-9/11 veterans with disabilities resulting from their service to the country.

UConn’s Own “Folk Hero” On Basketball and Green Tea Lava Cake
UConn Alumni– Do you remember Ace Watanasuparp?
He was the first Asian-American walk-on for the UConn men’s basketball team in 2000.
And while he still plays in a couple of basketball leagues to stay in shape, he has gone on to become a vice president at Citizen’s Bank and open a boutique dessert bar in Manhattan.
