UConn CIBER Program Hosts Fifth Sustainability Conference in Australia

The UConn Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) and the University of Queensland School of Business in Australia co-hosted the fifth annual “Green Business: Australia” program, a faculty development conference in sustainable business program from Jan. 3-14.

Nine participants visited an Aboriginal cultural center; met executives of a company that is a world leader in sustainable real estate, construction and property development; toured the Sydney Opera House; visited an organic farm; learned about recycling obsolete technology and attended presentations by Australian companies recognized for their environmentally friendly strategies.

“This is easily one of the best programs I have ever attended,” said Mysore Ramaswamy, a professor at the Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, La. As a result of the trip, he is planning to develop a course on green-supply chain for his university.
