Internship Success Story: Hayley Reissfelder

Hayley Reissfelder is a senior here at UConn who had an internship with Christina K. Pierce Boutique Fashion Agency.  Hayley’s responsibilities included creating social media campaigns for different brands in order to increase their following on social platforms. Amazingly, one of her ideas called #theperfectpair on Instagram was picked up by their client, Dayton K!

She received her internship at Christina K. Pierce through a failed interview at Boston Magazine. During her interview, Hayley made a connection with the marketing director who referred her to Christina K. Pierce. With the directors’ recommendation, Hayley was hired on the spot.

Next, we asked Hayley her most memorable moment at Christina K. Pierce and she exclaimed “It was getting to help backstage at the Mass General Hospital charity fashion show. I got to work with models and cancer survivors during the show and was able to use our brands to help make them all feel beautiful. It was so much fun and a really great hands-on fashion experience.” Thanks to her business classes and having real life experience, she has learned that everything in marketing needs to be connected and consistent to be successful. Overall, she is very grateful for her wonderful internship that has taught her so much.

Hayley’s advice for others: “Networking is so important! Don’t rule out anything, because I generated great contacts this summer by being open-minded and willing to do anything. Also, when you network make sure to follow up. I’ve stayed in touch throughout the summer with people I’ve met through work and have gotten offers for future internships.”
